Seine eigene Sprache hat er auf dem Fundament der klassischen Musik in der Improvisation des Jazz gefunden. So ist er heute ein vielseitiger Improvisateur und gern gesehener Gastmusiker. Au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Spieltechniken, rhythmische Raffinesse und ein melodischer Einfallsreichtum zeigen ein ganz neuartiges Cellospiel des 21. Jahrhunderts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stephan ist erster Preistr\u00e4ger des internationalen Jazzwettbewerbs in Bucharest. Er gastierte weltweit auf B\u00fchnen und Festivals, wie der Staatsoper Wien, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Olympia Theatre Paris, Pori Jazzfestival in Finnland, Montreal Jazz Festival, New Directions Cello Festival in Boston, Festival Vivacello in Moskau und spielte Konzerte mit bekannten Musikern und Ensembles, u.a. mit Melody Gardot, Nils Landgren, Till Br\u00f6nner, Gil Goldstein, Giora Feidman, Don Thomson, Kristjan Randalu und der NDR Bigband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seit 2014 unterrichtet er Jazz f\u00fcr Streichinstrumente an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover, seit 2016 am Jazzinstitut Berlin und seit 2020 an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik \u201eHanns Eisler\u201c in Berlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/stephanbraun.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stephanbraun.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em><br><\/em>Duo \u201eTwirls\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alexander Beierbach (Tenor- &amp; Sopransaxophon)<br>Nicolas Schulze (Piano, Fender Rhodes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das Duo TWIRLS besteht aus dem Berliner Saxophonisten Alexander Beierbach und dem Pianisten Nicolas Schulze aus Potsdam. In freien und intimen Dialogen erkunden die beiden Instrumentalisten Klanglandschaft und Texturen, die von verschiedenen musikalischen Hintergr\u00fcnden gen\u00e4hrt werden. Nachdem sie sich im Laufe der Jahre in verschiedenen musikalischen Umgebungen getroffen hatten, begannen sie 2018 ihre Zusammenarbeit als improvisierendes Duo. Seitdem haben sie ihren pers\u00f6nlichen Weg gefunden, Dichte und Raum in einer Vielzahl von Schichten miteinander zu verweben. Im Juni 2023 erscheint das CD-Deb\u00fct des Duos auf Tiger Moon Records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/twirls.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">twirls.de<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alexander Beierbach ist aktiv in Gruppen wie dem Trio BROM mit dem Bassisten Jan Roder und dem Schlagzeuger Christian Marien, in seinem Quintett Absolutely Sweet Marie, das sich mit der Musik von Bob Dylan besch\u00e4ftigt, oder zB in einer der ber\u00fchmten Berliner Big Bands, dem Hannes-Zerbe-Jazzorchester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">alexanderbeierbach.de<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nicolas Schulze arbeitet mit dem Duo The Great Boredom (mit Schlagzeuger Daniel Kartmann) sowie mit Breath, Tongue, Melody (mit Magdalena Weber- Stimme, Richard Koch- Trompete und Matti Th\u00f6lert- Schlagzeug).
