Urspr\u00fcnglich war es mit dem Spiel der \u00bbMridangam\u00ab-Trommel verbunden, heute kann es auch unabh\u00e4ngig davon verstanden werden. Durch die Einf\u00fchrung von gesprochenen rhythmischen Mustern erm\u00f6glicht Konnakol ein tiefes Verst\u00e4ndnis f\u00fcr Rhythmus. Das umfangreiche System der s\u00fcdindischen Rhythmik l\u00e4sst sich auf wesentliche Grundtechniken reduzieren, die f\u00fcr das Zeit- und Rhythmusempfinden eines jeden Musikschaffenden eine gro\u00dfe Bereicherung darstellen.
